Our Mission

Our mission is to help people impacted by Parkinson's live their best lives through exercise, education, and awareness.

Our Story

In 2020 during the pandemic, when everything was shut down, some boxers contacted Coach Chad saying that their symptoms were coming back and they needed to do something about it. So in June, 2020 4 boxers met at Cumberland park and just starting working out.

That group began to organically grow with more people with Parkinson’s looking to fight back during the pandemic. At this time there was no charge, we were just looking to help people when there were no other options.

Eventually we were kicked out of the park. Covenant Church in West Lafayette allowed us to use their parking lot to keep the program going. As winter began to approach we knew that we couldn’t stay outside. We originally looked for some place to take on the program but couldn’t find a home. So we ended up opening a gym, and BOXFIT was born. We added fitness boxing to try to make enough money to keep the doors open.

After several years we realized that it was going to be tough to do that and to focus on why we started, to help people impacted by Parkinson’s. So we began the process of starting a nonprofit. During that time we had to move locations due to a major increase in rent. We are now located inside Fearless Bootcamp & Barbell.

Our goal as a nonprofit isn’t just to provide Rock Steady Boxing, but to provide many resources to help both those with Parkinson’s and care providers to make sure those impacted by Parkinson’s in our community live their best lives.
